This evening the Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears have played the first ever American Football match at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
As part of the preparations, the grass playing surface which the Tottenham Hotspur players is nowhere in sight.
Mounted in three enormous trays, the grass surface can be rolled away beneath the south stand to reveal an artificial NFL American football field beneath which is now in use.
At the rear of the 17,500 capacity south stand, the football pitch parks underneath the stadium and even has its own grow lights and fans and irrigation.
Ahead of the match, NFL reporter Stacey Dales was given access to see the grass pitch under the south stand which is a sight that not many fans have yet to see
Spurs supporters will certainly be hoping that when the grass surface is rolled back out ahead of the visit of Watford on October 19th, they are able to finally rediscover their form of yesteryear.
Check this out! Brand new @SpursOfficial Stadium features two pitches/surfaces for both soccer & American football!
