‘Too many question marks’: Harry Redknapp predicts Liverpool FC v Tottenham
Harry Redknapp is backing Liverpool FC to claim a victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League showdown at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool FC head into this game looking to try and return to winning ways in the Premier League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out.
The Merseyside outfit are still top of the Premier League table but they will be looking to get the three points against Spurs to keep up their brilliant start to the new campaign.
Spurs, meanwhile, head into the game having only won two of their last five games in the Premier League. That said, the Lilywhites did bounce back in impressive fashion with a 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League in midweek.
Despite Tottenham’s midweek win, former Spurs boss Redknapp is backing Liverpool FC to claim all three points at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Redknapp said: “Liverpool left it late to salvage a point from last Sunday’s short hop over to Manchester United and once again it highlighted no teams can be underestimated at this level this season.
“Two points dropped however allowed champions Manchester City to close the gap at the summit and with Tottenham now their next opponents at Anfield, the Reds will have to be resolute and focused to keep the Citizens at arm’s length.
“A 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday has certainly given Spurs a huge boost after results in the Premier League have been very disappointing of late.
“Harry Kane was in good form as he bagged a brace as did strike partner Heung-Min Son.
“However, a trip to Merseyside is a big step up in class and Tottenham have too many question marks hanging over them to derail the Liverpool express.”
Liverpool FC have won all but one of their nine games in the Premier League this season it what has been a fantastic start to the season for the Reds.
They will return to League Cup action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Arsenal in the fourth round at Anfield.
