The Russian Defense Ministry expresses doubts about the reality of the US operation to eliminate al-Baghdadi
The Russian Ministry of Defense does not have reliable information on the conduct by the US military in Turkey-controlled part of the Idlib de-escalation zone for the operation to “destroy” former ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Major General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian military, said on Sunday.
“The increase in the number of direct participants and countries that allegedly took part in this “operation”, each with completely conflicting details, raises legitimate questions and doubts about its reality and, especially, its success,” Konashenkov said.
