There were many relationships on Charmed, but there was just one that holds a special place in fans' hearts: the romance between Leo Wyatt (Brian Krause) & Piper Halliwell (Holly Marie-Combs). The relationship between the Whitelighter and witch proved to be the show's most successful, with fans immediately getting behind the forbidden romance when it started in season 1.
Piper and Leo proved to be the show's main OTP, battling demons, Elders and other love interests to be together. They did eventually get the chance to retire from the Wiccan life but faced a lot of trials and tribulations to get there. From their first kiss to them meeting their older selves, here are the 10 best Leo and Piper moments.
10 Their first kiss (S1 Ep8)
This episode marked the beginning of their love story, as Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Piper battled for Leo's affections. When he was first introduced to the show, the sister thought Leo was a simple handyman; they would often call him to regularly repair the fixtures at the manor.
Piper and Leo's feelings for one another came to light after Prue (Shannen Doherty) casts a truth spell. Piper asks whether he considers her more than a friend before making the first move. Leo and Piper then share their first kiss and make their relationship official in the next episode.
9 Their first "I Love You" exchange (S1 Ep21)
Piper found out the truth about Leo in the worst possible way. In the episode 'Love Hurts', Leo is fatally wounded and goes to the sisters for help. He asks them to track down his charge and protect her from her demonic lover. However, they are also racing against time to find Leo a cure.
Throughout the episode, Piper refuses to leave Leo's side as his health deteriorates. She decides to use a power-switching spell so she can access his healing abilities, but can't seem to work out the trigger. Knowing he didn't have long, Leo confessed his feelings for Piper. Piper was then able to heal him after reciprocating his love. They have a nice reunion before he returns to the Elders.
8 Piper sees Leo in purgatory (S2 Ep12)
In season 2, Piper and Leo took a small break from each other as their 'jobs' got in the way. As Piper wanted a bit of stability in her life, she began seeing her neighbor, Dan (Greg Vaughn). Her romance with Dan was going well until Leo returned, promising to win her back.
This happened in the episode "Awakened", when Piper contracts a deadly virus. When she is on the verge of death, she meets Leo in purgatory. Leo tells her he is breaking the rules in saving her. He later reveals that the Elders have clipped his wings so he is now mortal. Piper looks flattered when he says they will fight for their relationship.
7 Their wedding (S3 Ep15)
Piper and Leo had to jump over several hurdles before they were able to get married. Their first wedding didn't go to plan as Leo was taken by the Elders for trying to elope in secret ("Magic Hour"). Their second attempt was ruined when Prue is accused of murder. Piper was reluctant to try for a third time as she took it as a sign they weren't meant to be. Yet, Leo does his best to convince her that they are.
After a pep talk with her parents, Piper and Leo eventually tie by the end of 'Just Harried'. Here, they are surrounded by their family and friends. It was nice to see something go right for the Charmed Ones.
6 Piper supports Leo (S4 Ep17)
In 'Saving Private Leo', fans got an insight into Leo's past when he is invited to a veterans' reunion. Leo is hesitant to attend because he feels guilty for the death of his friends. The two friends who died are now back for vengeance and begin targeting the Charmed Ones.
After vanquishing Leo's former friends, Piper convinces her husband to attend the reunion. Together they meet several other veterans, including the man Leo had died saving. Piper's encouragement had allowed Leo to recover from his survivor's guilt and prove that he deserved his Whitelighter abilities.
5 Pregnancy with Wyatt (S5 Ep15)
Season 4 saw Leo and Piper begin trying for a baby; however, it looked like this wouldn't be possible as Piper received news that they would struggle to conceive. So when the Angel of Destiny revealed that she was pregnant, it came as a nice surprise for all ("Witch Way Now").
Wyatt Halliwell was introduced to the world after Piper went into labor during the episode 'The Day Magic Died'. It was quite an eventful occasion for the sisters with their father's (James Read) new wife turning out to be a demon. Lucky for them, the labor was less dramatic and Piper gave birth to the first male Halliwell.
4 Reconnecting on another plane (S6 Ep16)
Many fans would love to forget the mini break-up between Leo and Piper, which lasted for the majority of season 6. Yet a reconciliation seemed on the cards when Piper and Leo are transported to a Ghostly plane ("The Courtship of Wyatt's Father").
When Leo is fatally wounded by the Darklighter's poisonous arrow, he and Piper have a heart-to-heart. After confessing their feelings for one another, they soon reconnect and end up conceiving Chris (Drew Fuller). Although Leo ends up leaving (unaware of Piper's pregnancy), this episode marked the beginning of their reconciliation.
3 Leo's fall from Grace (S7 Ep16)
Leo and Piper were almost ripped apart again by the Elders after they decided to wipe his memory. This was a test the Elders put in place to force Leo to pick between his duties or his family. However, they don't allow him to say goodbye to Piper or the other sisters.
The Elders say they won't intervene, yet one sways Leo into the angelic role again. As Phoebe and Paige (Rose McGowan) track him down, Piper becomes severely sick and almost dies. Leo manages to hear her call out for him and proceeds to fall from Grace. The Elders reveal that he is now a mortal and free to live his life with Piper.
2 Piper sacrifices Leo to save him (S8 Ep10)
Piper makes the ultimate sacrifice in "Vaya Con Leos" after she lets the Angel of Destiny take him. This was the lesser of two evils as the Angel of Death revealed Leo was going to die. No matter what Piper and the sisters did, the Angel of Death managed to find him.
Piper decided the best case scenario was for the Angel of Destiny to take Leo. She, Paige and Phoebe agreed that if they manage to win the Ultimate Battle, Leo would be safely returned to them. The separation would hurt Piper but it was better than losing Leo forever. The pair then share an emotional farewell before he is taken.
1 Traveling 50 years into the future (S8 Ep22)
After Piper and Billie (Kaley Cuoco) were the sole survivors in the Ultimate Battle, Leo was returned. However, the pair decide to travel back in time to prevent the deaths of Phoebe and Paige. One of the time drops they end up in is 50 years into the future.
Piper and Leo are surprised to find an older couple residing in the manor, who seem to be expecting them. They then reveal themselves to be the future Leo and Piper. Their older selves advise them how to work the ring, but don't give too much away as it could ruin the future. However, with an older Piper and Leo present, it's safe to assume the battle goes in the Charmed Ones' favor.
