UFC 245 play-by-play and live results
LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie is on scene and reporting live from Saturday’s UFC 245 event, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 6:15 p.m. ET (3:15 p.m. PT).
The event takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
In the main event, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman (15-1 MMA, 10-0 UFC) puts his belt on the line in a grudge match against former interim champ Colby Covington (15-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC). In the co-main event, featherweight champ Max Holloway (21-4 MMA, 17-4 UFC) defends his title against Alexander Volkanovski (20-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC). And the third title fight on the card sees dual women’s champ Amanda Nunes (18-4 MMA, 11-1 UFC) put her bantamweight title up against former featherweight titleholder Germaine de Randamie (9-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC).

Current fight
Viviane Araujo vs. Jessica Eye
Round 1 – Araujo bounces lightly on her lead leg. Eye a little more flat-footed. She flurries but eats a counter that catches her attention. Araujo’s speed is clear early. Eye seems to have a little more pop early, but she’s going to have to track her opponent down. Eye with a nice right to the body. She flashes out a front kick to the body. Jab scores. Eye stationary but timing things well right now. Punches traded in the pocket. Araujo catches a high kick and is able to push the action to the canvas just past the halfway mark. Half-guard for Eye. She’s trying to hold tight on the upper body. Araujo postures and punches. She backs away and controls from the front, but Eye scrambles up to her feet. She eats a punch as she rises, but she’s clear. Eye flashes a high ick that’s blocked. She shoots inside but comes up short. Low kicks traded. MMA Junkie leans toward Araujo, 10-9.
Round 2 – Araujo reaches with an uppercut but is tagged with a flurry in reply. Eye not willing to concede anything right now. Araujo holding the center, and she remains the more mobile fighter, but Eye is digging in on the exchanges. Right hand for Eye. Low kick scores. Superman for Araujo scores, but Eye doesn’t budge. Araujo catches another high kick, but this time Eye bounces off the cage and stays upright. Eye with a nice chop of the legs. Left hand lands. She’s fighting on the outside, but she’s having some success. Araujo picks up the pressure with two minutes left and is able to push inside and score the double-leg, taking the fight to the floor. Eye doesn’t stay there, though, framing and creating space and then rushing to her feet. On the restart, it’s Eye in the center, and now she’s the one pushing forward. Punches and low kicks traded. Eye slips under a strike and wraps the body, looking for the takedown. Not there before the bell. MMA Junkie gives it to Eye, 10-9.

Oskar Piechota vs. Punahele Soriano
Round 1 – Soriano in the center and has a high kick blocked. Piechota shifts left on the outside against his southpaw opponent. Soriano tees up a few big lefts but misses the mark to start. Piechota tries to engage, but Soriano lands with a left that stuns him. Another left sends Piechota to the floor. Soriano leaps forward and rushes with punches. Piechota doing his best to turn and recover. He’s taking some big shots, but he spins to his knees. Soriano tries to take the back. Piechota recovers and spins free. Crafty work. Piechota attacks the right arm. It’s not there, but he uses it to spin to a better position. They stand, and Piechota grabs the neck. Soriano pops his head free. They reset. Torrid pace has taken a little from both men already. Soriano the one walking forward as they start again. He fires the big left, and it lands. Piechota again in trouble. Left hook to the chin, and he’s out. A right lands as he falls, too. Vicious.
