JJ Redick Finds A Familiar Foil To Duke Fans And Lets Him Have It
We’d call this a takedown by Redick
That Duke-Fab Five thing still runs deep and it wasn’t just that era of Blue Devils.
Check out former Devil JJ Redick teeing off on former Fab Fiver Chris Webber, who now provides cold for NBA broadasts on TNT.
Webber, who was supremely talented but who never came close to living up to his ability, was criticizing Joel Embiid for not living up to his talent.
Somewhat Ironic in our opinion but never mind that for now.
Redick apparently heard about it and hilariously said this: “Saw a headline on ESPN. Heard a little bit of dialogue last night. I had the game on mute because Webber was doing it.”
We’ve said for years that at times it’s good to just turn the sound off and put some jazz on instead. And while we enjoy the banter on TNT, particularly when Charles Barkley is involved, we have to agree with Redick: Webber isn’t very good at his job.
On a side note, we’d like to repeat a criticism from last year’s NCAA Tournament: why in the world was Chris Webber, whose dishonesty cost his alma mater dearly and fractured the Fab Five, doing college broadcasts?
We agree that a lot of NCAA rules need to be dropped or overhauled, but he agreed to abide by them and violated that.
Most of the kids who were playing in the tournament did. Most of the coaches too. Why in the world would the NCAA let a flagrant rule breaker broadcast those games? It a slap in the face to every honorable person who takes the floor.
