Sky Sports pundit states his prediction for Man United v Everton
Charlie Nicholas is backing Manchester United to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League by beating Everton 3-1 on Sunday at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of some impressive performances, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men having beaten Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in their most recent top-flight outings.
Manchester United also sealed a 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night as they made it three wins in a row in all competitions.
Solskjaer’s side will now be hoping to continue their good form with a home victory against the Toffees on Sunday afternoon as they look to keep up their push for a top-four finish.
The Merseyside outfit were 3-1 winners over Chelsea FC at Goodison Park last weekend under interim boss Duncan Ferguson.
However, former Arsenal star Nicholas is backing the home side to claim all three points when they host Everton at Old Trafford this weekend.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “This is a proper Sunday. It was great to see ‘Big Dunc’ with his wholehearted honesty when Everton scored their third.
“Everton do not know what style they want as they have had such a variety of managers. Are Manchester United turning the corner?
“It certainly looked that way against Manchester City and they could be on course for the top four now. Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial looked brilliant, while Scott McTominay’s aggression was good once again.
“United do give the ball away cheaply and I am unconvinced about them for the top four. They will continue to grind it away and they will get another promising and positive result here.”
Manchester United are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished sixth last term.
They are next in League Cup action on Wednesday night with a quarter-final clash against Colchester.
