They sang hits Stayin’ Alive, from John Travolta’s 1977 film Saturday Night Fever, and You Win Again.

As an Oxford student Mr Blair was a singer-guitarist in band Ugly Rumours and a source said: “He still harbours rock star fantasies and has always been a Bee Gees fan.”

“He also loves hanging around with celebrities, particularly musicians.”

“Barry has a studio in Buckinghamshire so Tony jumped at the offer to visit.”

“He is a pretty good musician but the thought of him singing How Deep Is Your Love to wife Cherie is pretty terrifying. In fact it could be a Tragedy . . . ”

Sir Barry, 73, also offered to host the Blairs at his Miami home, said the source.

Tony was still PM in 2006 when he and Cherie enjoyed a Florida hol with Barry’s late brother Robin and wife Dwina.
