Teen is shot through window of his California home

An 18-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot inside his Valley Glen home through a window Saturday morning, Dec. 14, authorities said.

About 4 a.m., Los Angeles police responded to the 6300 block of Bellaire Avenue on reports of a shooting, spokesman Officer Drake Madison said.

Officers arrived and found the teenager with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive his injury, Madison said.

Officers learned the teen was inside the home when someone fired multiple rounds from outside and struck the teen through a window.

The suspect fled prior to the officers’ arrival and has not been found. Police were not sure if the shooting was gang-related, Madison said.
