The time for empathy and partnership has come to a dramatic end in the world of Marvel's X-Men. The mutants have gathered to create their own mutant homeland on the island of Krakoa, and extending an invitation to every mutant anywhere on the planet. All they need do is walk through one of the many Krakoan gates. But humans being humans, several nations have decided to police their populations by keeping mutants from joining their people. Which is where the Marauders come in.
Since mutants are being kept from using their local Krakoan gateways the world over, Kate Pryde's Marauders are seeking them out to lend a helping hand. And in case anyone was wondering what kind of patience the Marauders were still capable of demonstrating after dealing with so much human ignorance, Storm makes that clear. Remember, the mutants have just recently learned what people will do to kill mutants, drawing an unbroken line in the sand. So with the need to protect their own greater than ever, Storm is taking point in Marauders #4. And as the preview pages show, she's using one of Thanos' most chilling lines to let humans known they are dealing with a god of lightning.
The issue isn't all ego and arrogance, as Pyro and Lockheed continue to expand their mutual powers of fire breath and fire manipulation. Set to the tune of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," obviously. Check out the preview pages below:
When Thanos tried to flex his greatness by telling Scarlet Witch "I don't even know who you are," he almost ended up defeated as a result. the same can't be said for Storm's target, although his final fate will only be revealed in the full issue..
