Smart cards and tokens for Lucknow Metro fare

On the lines of Delhi Metro, Lucknow Metro too would have electronic tokens and smart cards in its fare collection system. The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) team is currently studying all minute details that need to be incorporated in the tender of metro’s fare collection system. LMRC MD Kumar Keshav said, “We will use automatic fare collection (AFC) system under which a passenger’s entry and exit are guarded by automated gates and fare is deducted directly from the token/ card for the distance covered.” These tokens and cards are provided by specialised agencies whose tender is being prepared.
