DIGNITARIES, STAFF CELEBRATE RETIRED MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Top dignitaries and staff of Ikorodu General Hospital have described the former General Manager of the facility, Dr. Adenike Odubiyi as a treasure to the State’s medical profession as she retires from the Public Service after 35 years of meritorious service.
Speaking at the retirement ceremony held in her honour at the hospital grounds, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Ademuyiwa Benjamin appreciated her professionalism, adding that the success achieved in her area of specialisation as an anesthesiologist with many years experience is a result of the dedication towards her profession.
Describing her as a peace-loving individual, the Permanent Secretary pointed out that she is a treasure to the medical profession and a person, whose wealth of public sector experience, will greatly be missed.
“What stands out in her professional career is her managerial skill. She has compassion for people and her response to issues contributed to her numerous achievements during her career”, he affirmed.
While praying for her to enjoy the fruits of her labour, the Permanent Secretary urged members of staff of Ikorodu General Hospital to support the incoming General Manager towards taking the hospital to enviable heights.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the new Medical Director Dr. Taiwo Hassan, congratulated the retiree for her commitment to service and humanity, stating that her professionalism and dedication to duty precedes her at the various Government Hospitals where she served.
The Kabiyesi of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi also commended her passion for duty and service, adding that her contribution towards the restoration of peace to Ikorodu General Hospital is immeasurable.
Responding, Dr. Odubiyi attributed her committed service to the love and support from the State Government and members of staff at various hospitals she served, submitting that a mutual relationship must be built between members of staff and the management.
She, however, gave gratitude to God for the opportunity given her to serve the Government, revealing that her period in service has been fulfilling.
