Netflix's You: 10 Questions We Need Answered In Season 3
Netflix's You is set to air its third season in 2021. The second season of this series premiered as an exclusive for the streaming service after the series got its start on Lifetime and quickly became a massively popular show for people that love drama, romance, and major plot twists. The second season expanded on the storyline of the first, but put Joe in a brand new city. Unfortunately, he wasn't completely able to escape his past.
Although the end of the second season gave fans a clue to the fact that Joe is still very much up to his old ways, how the things that happened in the second season and how their life changes will impact Joe and Love has yet to be seen. Still, there are some serious questions that viewers are hoping will be answered as the third season unfolds.
10 Does Love Still Love Joe?
As revealed toward the end of the second season, Joe isn't the only one with some obsessive tendencies. Love is revealed to be just as overly obsessed as Joe and it becomes clear that, like Joe, Love will stop at nothing to get and stay close to the ones she loves. Although the end of the second season shows Joe and Love moving to the suburbs and expecting a child together, viewers wonder one thing: does Love still love Joe? The final scenes of the second season show that Joe's affections seem to have moved to someone else, but have Love's?
9 Will Being Parents Change Them?
Being parents is something that really changes a lot of people. Having a child is a major part of a person's life and welcoming a new baby into the world makes many people more responsible, more cautious, and more focused on taking care of their child than anything else.
Considering Love and Joe's personalities in the first and second season of the series, it's safe to say that they're not particularly parental, responsible, or cautious. But, the final scenes of season two's finale put such a heavy focus on Love being pregnant that it makes many people wonder whether or not having a child will change the way that these two think and behave.
8 Is The Baby Joe's?
Although there aren't a ton of reasons to doubt that Love is pregnant with Joe's baby, there's no denying that Love can be dark and calculating, just like Joe. Love showed that she would do anything to get and keep Joe, it's not a far stretch to imagine that she might have gotten pregnant by someone else and convinced Joe that it was his in order to get him to stay with her. If the baby isn't Joe's, that will definitely be a huge part of the third season and it'll likely change everything about their relationship.
7 Was That The Last Of Ellie?
At the end of the second season, Ellie had recently lost her sister and Joe sent her far, far from Los Angeles where he promised to send her money when she needed it and help her start her own life. Even though Ellie was a close friend of Joe's and someone that he looked after and protected and was someone who helped humanize Joe to the audience, he sent her away when it became obvious that was what was best for her. But, that doesn't mean that fans have seen the last of Ellie.
6 ...Or Is She The New Candace?
If Ellie does come back, odds are she won't be happy with Joe. Although she didn't seem to have a lot of resentment for him after what happened to her sister, it's possible that a little time apart gave Ellie time to think about what happened to her sister, research Joe, and maybe even learn more about Love's past.
In the end of the first season, viewers saw Joe's ex Candace return to seek her revenge on him and her presence in Los Angeles was a big plot point in the second season. If Ellie comes back, is it possible she could be the new Candace? Could she find Joe and Love in the suburbs and come after them to get revenge for her sister's tragic death?
5 What About Peach's Parents?
Despite Joe's incredibly convincing and, as morbid as it is, beautiful note that he wrote explaining away Peach's death, it was hinted at toward the end of the first season that her parents didn't fully believe that her death was truly a suicide. A private investigator was seen reading Beck's book that Joe had finished and gotten published, but not much else has been said about her parents' investigation into her death. What happened to their suspicions?
4 What's The Truth About Love's First Husband?
Everyone who watched season two of You knows the explanation that the show gave for Love's husband. Love is a talented chef who she revealed was responsible for killing the au pair that was hired to look after herself and Forty as children.
The fact that she's so good in the kitchen, her history, and the fact that she only talks about her late husband in vague terms has lead many viewers to believe that perhaps he didn't simply get sick and die the way she claimed he did. The full story surrounding their relationship and his mysterious illness is something that many viewers hope to get in the third season.
3 Is Love Still Mourning?
The scene that showed Love's reaction to her brother, Forty, being shot was truly heartbreaking. Although Forty may have been abrasive and overbearing at times, Love showed both in the present day and in flashbacks that she truly cared for her brother and would do anything for him. A loss like that is not something that most people will handle well and it will definitely be interesting to see the way that Love is coping with Forty's death.
2 What About Their Parents?
Love and Forty's family covered up what happened with their au pair and it's implied that the pair are wealthy enough to bury just about any scandal that their children find themselves involved in. Although Love doesn't have the best relationship with her parents, the end of the second season left a lot of skeletons in her closet and many viewers are wondering if Joe and Love were able to move to the suburbs because her parents covered them up - or if they moved to run away from them.
1 Who's The New Neighbor?
This question is one that viewers will definitely be getting answers to. The final scenes of the second season show Joe walking through his suburban yard and looking through the fence at his new neighbor. It doesn't show her face, but viewers can see that she's married, she loves books, and she likes to write. Some viewers have speculated that it could be Ellie's mom while others believe it could be a brand new character. Either way, it's going to be interesting to see who Joe has fallen for this time and how Love is going to react.
