Pedraza-LesPierre: Live coverage, 8 pm ET
Jose Pedraza and Mikkel LesPierre meet in tonight’s rescheduled main event.
Jose Pedraza and Mikkel LesPierre were supposed to fight on June 18, but are up tonight instead, headlining a five-fight card on ESPN starting at 8 pm ET.
Wil Esco will be here for round-by-round updates during the co-feature and main event.
Pedraza, 31, is a former titleholder at 130 and 135 looking to chase another belt at 140. His run at the new weight got off to a bad start last September, dropping a decision to Jose Zepeda, but he’s determined to make this work. LesPierre has one notable fight in his career, a title challenge against Maurice Hooker last year that ended in a shutout loss. Tonight’s fight is a catchweight bout technically at welterweight.
The co-feature is a lightweight bout between unbeaten Albert Bell, really a 130 prospect but it’s another catchweight, and Mark Bernaldez, and we also have a notable rematch between two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez and the man who beat him in his pro debut last year, Adan Gonzales, plus a one-week turnaround from heavyweight project Kingsley Ibeh and junior welterweight prospect Elvis Rodriguez also in action.
Ramirez-Gonzales will be opening the show if you’re particularly interested in tuning in to see that one.
