[Women's Wrestling] Six Viking Wrestlers Garner NWCA All-American Honors
Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the 2020 NAIA Women's All-American teams listing six Grand View women's wrestlers.
Each year the NWCA recognizes the outstanding work of the Student-Athletes by naming the All-Americans based on their achievements in the national championships. However, this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic the championships were canceled. This year, All-American honors were based on each wrestler's overall body of work through the conference tournaments and up to the national championships.
Grand View garnered two NWCA First-Team All-Americans including Alaura Couch at 101 and Emma Cochran at 109. Also earning honorable mention honors were Hannah Michael (101), Chloe Krebsbach (109), Isabella Gonzalez (130), and Kylei Gray (143).
The National Wrestling Coaches Association, established in 1928, is a non-profit organization for the advancement of all levels of the sport of wrestling with primary emphasis on developing coaches who work in academic environments. The three core competencies of the NWCA are Coaching Development, Student-Athlete Welfare, and the Promotion of Wrestling.
