Caroline Manzo Speaks Out About Brother-In-Law's Arrest

The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Caroline Manzo is finally speaking out about her brother-in-law's arrest. The tight-knit family is currently dealing with the fall out as they wait for the truth to be revealed.

Manzo was the star of the early seasons on the franchise and was allegedly offered a contract to appear on season 10 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey but allegedly turned down the offer. The mother of three was a fan favorite when the show first aired and often was the woman who would offer the best advice. After leaving the hit show, Manzo and her family starred in a spin-off called Manzo’d With Children, which followed the family through two sons’ moving out and her daughter getting married. Since leaving the show, Manzo has started her own podcast called Let Me Tell You and has been enjoying being a grandmother.

Dina’s ex-husband was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly hiring a hitman to assault her husband, David Cantin. An indictment was released by the US Attorney General’s Office for the District of New Jersey, and it read that Tommy Manzo and John Perna, a member of the Lucchese Crime Family, were arrested on charges of planning and carrying out an assault on Dina’s new husband in aid of racketeering. For years, fans have made the connections between the Manzo family and the mob. Viewers who lived in the same town as the Manzo’s have often stated that there was a family history that involved connections. For example, Caroline’s father-in-law was mysteriously killed, and many believed he was an enforcer for the mob. For most who live in North Jersey and hail from an Italian family, the accusations were not shocking.

Caroline is finally breaking her silence regarding the trouble her brother-in-law has found himself in. The matriarch found herself torn between sides since both Tommy and Dina are her family. During an interview with Extra, the 58-year old mother of three opened up about her family drama. The reality star exclaimed that the whole family was "heartbroken." Explaining to the cameras that this involved family on both sides. Caroline revealed she wanted to know the truth and her allegiance would lie there. In her stern tone, she also told fans that her family does not run from their issues and they will be addressing them head-on.

Long time fans of the show will recall the Manzo sisters often painted a picture that their Italian family was unbreakable. Caroline even told her castmates during season 1 that they were as "thick as thieves" starting the mob rumors off. Both Dina and Caroline were married to the Manzo brothers, but Dina separated from Tommy in 2012 after cheating allegations. The divorce was finalized in 2016. Tommy will be appearing in court on Tuesday.
