‘Back-to-School Night’ scheduled Saturday, Aug. 15 at Volunteer Speedway
BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Traditionally the beginning of August for youth in East Tennessee mean summer break is over and it’s time to start another school year. Volunteer Speedway looks to support local schools with Back-to-School Night at The Gap on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Part of “The Gap Gives Back Week” will see $1 from each grandstand ticket sold being donated to local schools in the community. Kids 10-and-under will be admitted free to watch racing and teachers can show their badge for discounted admission.
An exciting five division racing program is scheduled featuring the $1,200-to-win Crate Late Model “Back-to-School Bash,” along with Sportsman Late Model, Street Stock, Classic and Front Wheel Drive action on the high banks.
Adult grandstand admission $12, with kids 10-and-under free. … Adult pit/tier-parking $35, with kids 10-and-under free.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and grandstand gates at 5 p.m. Drivers meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m., hot laps at 7 p.m., followed by qualifying and racing.
