Jill Biden planning to continue teaching
She'll still be "Dr. B" in the classroom, even if she lands the gig as first lady.
Jill Biden said Sunday she plans to keep teaching college classes to send a positive message about educators, whether her husband is elected president or not.
"If we get to the White House, I'm going to continue to teach," she said in an interview with CBS' Rita Braver that aired on "Sunday Morning." "I want people to value teachers and know their contributions and to lift up the profession."
The potential first lady has taught English at community colleges for years, including during most of her eight years as second lady when Joe Biden was vice president.
Jill Biden, who holds a doctorate degree in education leadership, said it's important to be a regular person as well as a prominent leader.
"I want to be Dr. B., their English teacher and I think they like that, quite frankly," she said, referring to her students.
