227 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oregon Health Authority reported 227 new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

The latest report also records one more death, an 88-year-old man in Multnomah County.

The new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases reported today are in the following counties: Baker (2), Clackamas (10), Columbia (1), Crook (2), Deschutes (7), Hood River (2), Jackson (8), Jefferson (11), Lane (5), Lincoln (2), Linn (3), Malheur (21), Marion (27), Morrow (15), Multnomah (45), Polk (6), Umatilla (15), Washington (37), and Yamhill (8). says there has been no recorded spike in COVID-19 cases due to protests.

Multnomah County Health Officer Dr. Jennifer Vines said there has not been a reported spike in coronavirus cases connected with the ongoing protests in Portland during a press conference Monday on regional trends.

Last week, Dr. Vines said she did not foresee any rollback for Multnomah County. The next day, Gov. Kate Brown said “all options are on the table” if the infection rate continues at its present pace.

Since Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties are considered one region by state officials,
Clackamas and Washington counties may also be subjected to rollbacks.

Clackamas County Chair Jim Bernard said they no longer want to be tied to the other two counties. He told KOIN 6 News he was surprised when his county was initially tied together with Multnomah and Washington counties and wants a call from Gov. Kate Brown if she’s considering rolling back the tri-county area.
