90 Day Fiancé: Olga Applies For Green Card Amid Steven Frend Breakup
The sweet summer romance of 90 Day Fiancé’s Olga Koshimbetova and Steven Frend ended as surprisingly as it started. After expecting a baby within a month of meeting, the young Steven and Olga started their reality TV journey. But in spite of the ups and downs they’d had, news of the TLC couple’s separation earlier this month did come as a shock to many fans. However, amidst the break-up and co-parenting decision, it appears that Steven is helping Olga finally get her green card.
Maryland native Steven had met Russian-born Olga in 2017 as she spent her summer vacation at Ocean City where he worked. In six weeks and right before her return to Russia, the 90 Day Fiancé couple, both 22, realized they were pregnant. Determined to make things work, Olga traveled back home, and the pair decided they’d get engaged to bring her back to America. Meanwhile 90 Day Fiancé viewers will also remember Steven starting a Go Fund Me campaign for $5,000 which he needed for his own Russia visa, the tickets, and an alleged DNA test to confirm he was the legal father of the child. Olga gave birth to their baby Alex in April 2018, but fans saw a different side to Steven when he confessed that he hadn't filed the legal paperwork to bring Olga to America and he also threatened to take their son without her during his Russia trip. However, by April 2019, Olga finally had her American visa, and two months after their two year anniversary, the pair tied the knot in August 2019 in Maryland. Unfortunately, on October 10 this year, Steven announced his split from Olga on Instagram.
Steven’s announcement revealed that their break-up was civil and that they were “better at being co-parents.” The 90 Day Fiancé star confessed they’d gone into the relationship “super blindly” and Olga too confirmed that “at the moment, as a couple, we are not together.” Still, in a recent Instagram post, Olga announced a “small update” and wrote “we finally received a letter with a date for my interview for my green card (at the end of November). We have been waiting [for] this letter [for] 166 days.” Olga disclosed that for the past few days she’s been feeling “so much alive” and “dreaming again, making plans” while “working on her photoshop skills.” The 90 Day Fiancé celeb, who's also a photographer, continued, “I would say I saw a ‘light at the end of the tunnel.’”
Olga told her Instagram fans how things have finally started “moving and changing” and that her mood now is “10/10.” Considering Olga and Steven are still on cordial terms, there are chances that he could be submitting an affidavit of support, and probably sponsoring her stay in America so they continue co-parenting their child. Olga had also revealed that she has an uncle in California who’s been living in the States for 23 years, which was also found to be a little off by 90 Day Fiancé viewers who felt she’d hidden the fact from the cameras.
Steven and Olga had last appeared in the TLC franchise via 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantined where the American man had shared that he finally had a temporary pizza delivery job to support the family. Back then, Olga had commented that she was proud of her husband, and TLC fans had finally seen a silver lining in their future. However, while Steven and Olga may never appear as a couple on 90 Day Fiancé again, it’s great to see the Russian lady starting over her American dream, with her ex still by her side.
