Genshin Impact's 1.1 Update: All New Characters Confirmed
New playable characters have finally been confirmed for Genshin Impact. Thanks to a new livestream, players now know that four new characters can be acquired when Patch 1.1 drops on November 11th, 2020. It's still unclear how these characters will be obtained, but it will most likely be through the Wish gacha pull system, which means some players may get luckier than others. Here's everything Genshin Impact fans need to know about the four new characters coming to Genshin Impact 1.1.
Zhongli is already a character in the game, and he was rumored to be a new playable character in the Genshin Impact 1.1 leaks. In fact, most of the characters in the leaks were confirmed during the 1.1 livestream. Zhongli is a Geo user who uses polearms to attack enemies. He's a 5-star character, which means he'll be incredibly difficult to obtain.
The next big Genshin Impact story character is Childe, also known as Tartaglia. He was also leaked before the livestream, and he plays an important role in the Liyue story arc of Genshin Impact. He uses bows and the Hydro element to take on foes. Like Zhongli, Childe-Tartaglia is a 5-star character, which means he will become one of the rarest characters in the game. It also looks as if developer miHoYo will have some interesting things in store for the character when 1.1 update drops.
The final two characters confirmed for Genshin Impact 1.1 are Xinyan and Diona. Diona is a tiny pink-haired girl with ranged attacks who uses the Cryo element. Although she isn't completely human, she's a popular bartender at the Cat's Tail tavern. Similar to the new banner character Klee, Diona is small in stature but still very powerful. She's a 4-star character, which means she'll be a little more common than Zhongli or Childe-Tartaglia.
Xinyan is a Pyro user with a pretty intriguing backstory. She's a rock star from Liyue with a thick Southern accent, which makes her a fairly unique and interesting character already. Although pictured with a musical instrument, Xinyan will primarily use claymores to fight off enemies. Like Diona, she is a 4-star character.
So far, these are the four confirmed characters for Genshin Impact 1.1. Fans have been wanting new characters for some time now, and it looks like these new additions are all pretty great. Story characters like Zhongli and Childe are especially well-loved within the fandom already, so it's nice to see they'll be playable when the 1.1 update for Genshin Impact arrives on November 11th, 2020.
