This Samus Halloween Costume Is Any Metroid Fan's Dream
While people around the world are figuring out how to celebrate Halloween this year, Wargaming developer Brenden McCormack seems to have figured it out with his exciting Metroid costume. Metroid fans are impressed after Brenden posted several images of his Samus Aran outfit to Twitter. He even posted an exciting video of the Halloween costume lighting up with an eerie shade of green that adds to the authenticity of the ensemble.
When Brenden is not working as a developer at Wargaming, the studio credited with World of Tanks, he spends his free time building innovative Halloween costumes that put the modest efforts of the rest of us to shame. Brenden built the Samus suit with his wife, Laura, and the results could not be more impressive. The costume is so good it won't come as a major surprise if it inspires others to take advantage of this unique Halloween season to begin building unique creations of their own.
The Nintendo cosplay (which was shared on Brenden McCormack's Twitter account) includes details that Metroid fans will surely recognize immediately. While this is not the first example of Samus cosplay, Brenden's outfit stands out because it highlights a baby Metroid and cannon arms. These specific details reinforce the appreciation of the engineering skills that are necessary to create such incredible suits. Brenden was far from being camera shy after donning his costume, posing in a variety of positions that showcase every significant aspect of his Samus build.
This costume comes at an exciting time for fans of the Nintendo series, as Retro Studios hired a God of War developer last month to contribute to the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4. Metroid fans had to wait almost three years before they received any updates concerning the latest installment in the Metro series. This announcement coincided with Nintendo announcing that the initial game had to be scrapped, effectively delaying the expected release date by at least a few years. This costume is bringing more excitement to fans as they patiently wait for Metroid Prime 4 to be released.
The technical understanding of how to create such an impressive build is astounding. While others have put their best efforts into emulating Metroid's main character, none have quite come as close as Brenden's build has when it comes to capturing the life-like details of Samus. Halloween will be very different this year compared to previous ones but it is encouraging to see members of the gaming community using this extra time indoors to create truly memorable dedications to their favorite games.
