UFC on ESPN+ 39 predictions: Who's picking Anderson Silva over the favored Uriah Hall?

The UFC is back in its Las Vegas home base this week, and a former longtime champion returns for his retirement fight at the top of the bill.

UFC on ESPN+ 39 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event streams on ESPN+.

In the main event, former longtime middleweight champion Anderson Silva (34-10 MMA, 17-6 UFC) fights in his retirement bout against Uriah Hall (15-9 MMA, 8-7 UFC). Hall is a -223 favorite at BetMGM Sportsbook, and he’s got a 9-5 edge in the picks from our 14 editors, writers, videographers and radio hosts.

In the co-feature, Andre Fili (21-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) takes on Bryce Mitchell (13-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at featherweight. Mitchell is a -152 favorite and he has a big 9-5 picks lead.

Maurice Greene (9-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) is a sizable underdog against Greg Hardy (6-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) at heavyweight. Hardy is a -323 favorite; the comeback on Greene is +250. Only one of our pickers is taking Greene in an upset.

And to open the main card, Bobby Green (27-10-1 MMA, 8-5-1 UFC) meets Thiago Moises (13-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in a lightweight fight. Green is a -304 favorite and he has a near-unanimous picks lead at 13-1.

In the MMA Junkie reader consensus picks, Hall (58 percent), Mitchell (72 percent), Hardy (61 percent) and Green (85 percent) are the choices.
