RHOSLC: Andy Cohen is Waiting to See How Jen's Legal Issues Play Out
As reactions to Jen Shah's arrest continue to pour in, Andy Cohen is finally breaking his silence on the matter. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was arrested last Tuesday and charged with wire fraud and money laundering for her alleged involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme. As her future with the franchise remains a mystery, Andy says he's "waiting to see how it plays out."
Housewives fans were shocked last week when news spread of Jen's arrest. The new Bravo star was reportedly filming with her co-stars when police located her and took her into custody. Jen, along with her assistant Stuart Smith, is accused of selling shady "lead lists" that targeted unsuspecting victims. Many elderly were among those scammed out of thousands of dollars in telemarketing sham that promoted a list of services the victims never received. Show stars Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Mary Cosby, and Lisa Barlow were reportedly shocked when they watched their co-star get handcuffed and taken away.
Many viewers of the show have taken to social media to react to the shocking arrest, with even a few celebrities chiming in. While Andy Cohen has remained silent on yet another Housewives star facing fraud charges, the franchise's executive producer addressed the matter on his SiruiusXM radio show, Radio Andy. "Oy vey," the Watch What Happens Live host exclaimed. He went on to explain why he's waiting before issuing out a strong opinion on Jen's charges. "I'm waiting to see how it plays out," he added. "I have nothing to add to what we already know, other than I certainly hope and pray that none of it is true."
Meanwhile, Jen hasn't directly addressed the charges but did take time to thank her "real friends" and supporters. "Thank you for being loyal, believing in me, and not believing the hype,” Jen wrote over a #FreeJen meme of herself. “This journey has shown me who my true friends are. All my love. #ShahSquad.” It was just last month when Jen in a leaked audio scandal that revealed her verbally berating her Shah Squad and fashion designer Koa Johnson. While Jen remained mum about the leaked audio, when it comes to her arrest, she has been reposting #FreeJen messages from her supporters.
Her co-stars have also remained relatively silent on her arrest. However, with four of the ladies being present when Jen was taken in by police, viewers are already expecting this to all play out on the show. Jen has reportedly been banned from leaving the state of Utah and has can't transfer funds over the amount of $10k. While Andy prays the charges aren't true, the law appears to say otherwise.
