Peacemaker Interior Set First Look Revealed During John Cena Interview
John Cena reveals a first look at the interior set of his upcoming show Peacemaker. Cena's character will make his DC Extended Universe debut in The Suicide Squad, which releases in theaters and on HBO Max August 6. It will bring back some familiar faces from the original 2016 film, including Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman). However, new characters will join the squad alongside Peacemaker, such as Bloodsport (Idris Elba) and King Shark (Sylvester Stallone). Despite the fact audiences haven't met Cena's character yet, WarnerMedia clearly believes he'll be popular, ordering the Peacemaker show straight to series late last year.
The Suicide Squad director James Gunn came up with the idea for the show, which will explore Peacemaker's origin story. Gunn wrote all eight episodes of season 1 and will direct several of them as well. The series is currently in production and is aiming for a January 2022 release date. Gunn shared a first look at Peacemaker's set in February, with members of the show's cast posing on the porch of a patriotic-themed mobile home. Now, thanks to Cena, viewers have a better idea of what it looks like on the inside.
In a virtual appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Cena chatted with the host from the Peacemaker set, revealing, "This is Peacemaker's house." He also took a moment to poke fun at his character's living situation: "You know how Bruce Wayne has that huge mansion and the Batcave? I'm in a, it's a single wide. It's tasteful, it's tastefully done." Check out the full interview below:
Cena seems to be continuing his amusing tradition of wearing his Peacemaker costume during interviews, despite Gunn's promise he hasn't asked the actor to do so. It's clear from both Cena's wardrobe and his location that he's enthusiastic about his character's role in the DCEU. He appears excited to show off Peacemaker's set and increase audience anticipation for the show ahead of its 2022 debut. The interior set itself doesn't offer too many clues about the series, but it's neat to see the inside of Peacemaker's home regardless, especially since Gunn already revealed what the outside of it looks like.
It will be interesting to see the reaction to Peacemaker when he debuts in The Suicide Squad. So far, the film's trailer and other promotional materials have been well received, with many eager to see Gunn's take on the classic DC team. Hopefully, moviegoers will leave The Suicide Squad eager to spend more time with Cena's character once Peacemaker premieres.
