American Idol: Inside Carrie Underwood's 300-Acre Tennessee Home
Since winning American Idol season 4, Carrie Underwood went on to become one of the most popular country stars in history and purchase a 300-acre home where she lives with her husband and children. When Carrie first auditioned on American Idol in front of judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, she was just a 21-year-old aspiring singer performing Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me". Carrie was very well-received by the judges since the start, and she indeed proved herself to be a worthy contender to win the season.
Throughout her journey to win American Idol, Carrie Underwood belted out songs like Tiffany's "Could've Been", Erma Franklin's "Piece Of My Heart", and Joe Dee Messina's "Because You Love Me". During the finals, Carrie went on to perform hits including Pat Benatar's "Love Is A Battlefield", Martina McBride's "When God-Fearin' Women Get The Blues", Elvis Presley's "Trouble", Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!", and Guy Sebastian's "Angels Brought Me Here". Carrie ended up winning the competition over fellow finalist Bo Bice.
But it's been a very long time since American Idol season 4 aired in 2005, and Carrie Underwood is now an A-list country star who owns a very expensive property. As seen below, Carrie has shared Instagram pictures from inside her home on occasion. According to Country Fancast, Carrie's home in Franklin, Tennessee sits on property that spans 300 acres in size. Franklin is just a quick 30-minute drive to Nashville, which means that she has easy access to the city where she spends most of her time working in. Curiously, Carrie and her husband Mike Fisher own that piece of land for many years, but the construction on their mansion only finished in 2018.
It is not surprising that Carrie Underwood prioritized having a lot of land surrounding her home considering that country stars usually have homes with plenty of space for plants and perhaps even animals. Carrie has mentioned her desire to raise horses on the property, but it is not entirely clear if those dreams ever came to fruition. Alas, her farmhouse mansion and its surrounding landscape still make this place look just like a ranch.
Carrie Underwood has come a long way since her humble beginnings as a 21-year-old aspiring singer auditioning for American Idol. In 2021, she's still one of the biggest country stars on the planet, which means that her success has had a lot of longevity.
American Idol season 19 airs Sundays & Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC.
