A reasonably busy night in the NBA for a typically slow Tuesday with eight games going down. The Bulls and Pacers kick the night off in Indiana at 7:00 p.m. ET while the game of the night goes off at 10:00 when the Blazers visit the Clippers. Make sure you get those lineups locked in early on an abnormally large slate of Tuesday night games.
But don’t stop your fantasy fix there. Also, check out FanDuel to put a team together for tonight’s action on the hardcourt. A bad beat Monday night has our season mark still solid at 55-41. We’re going for our first undefeated night since last week so let’s have at ‘er.
As always, we stand behind our predictions, but take a look to see if any other players jump out at you by using the SportsGrid Player Prop Tool. Ensure you always check back throughout the day, as odds and projections may change with news and starting rotations. When you’re looking to see what’s what, our good friends at the FanDuel Sportsbook have all the up-to-date and best odds in the industry waiting for you.
Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Golden State Warriors
The Bet: Over 40.5 Points+Rebounds (-113)
After a little bit of extra rest, Giannis Antetokounmpo should be ready to rock against the Warriors on Tuesday night. The Greek Freak is coming off one of his best games of the season in a dominant performance in a win over Portland. Giannis went off for a season-high 47 points on a ridiculous 86 percent shooting performance while adding 11 of 13 from the line. Antetokounmpo accomplished this remarkably without hitting a three-pointer. The Bucks superstar also pulled down a hair above his season rebound average of 11.4 grabbing 12 boards over the Blazers. He’ll have another shot at a big game against a team that doesn’t defend or rebound well.
Golden State is right around the top-five, giving up over 114 points per game this season. The Warriors also give up the most free throws in the league allowing over 20 points a night to come from the stripe. That’s music to a player like Giannis’ ears as Antetokounmpo is second in the league, getting to the line nearly ten times a game. G-Stare also gives up a ton on the glass allowing the most rebounds in the NBA at 48.1 a night. Another nice matchup feature for the man who’s sixth in the league in rebounding and third on the defensive glass. Giannis and Milwaukee should come out strong in this one, and the Freak could be poised for another massive night.
The Bucks are -6 point road favorites with a -250 Moneyline, so don’t expect a blowout. The FanDuel Sportsbook’s total is mighty husky at 237.5, thanks to Milwaukee being the highest-scoring team in the league and Golden State having such a deficient defense.
Memphis Grizzlies Jonas Valanciunas vs. Miami Heat
The Bet: Under 15.5 Points (-110)
Despite some ups and downs, Miami has been able to stay in the mix in the Eastern Conference because of their defense this season. The Heat allows the third-fewest points in the league, holding the opposition to just 107 points per game. They are also second in the league holding opponents to just 44.5 percent shooting from the floor. Bam Adebayo and company have particularly defended well against big men giving up the fewest points in the league in the paint. Miami allows just 40.1 points per game inside and holds opponents to the sixth-lowest two-point field goal percentage. An excellent recipe for slowing down a seven-foot grizzly.
Jonas Valanciunas has undoubtedly found a home in Memphis as the popular player has entrenched himself as their starting center and continues to be productive for the team. The former Raptor is putting up a career-best 16.2 points per game but is shooting under his career average at 55.6 from the floor. While Chewy has been valuable to the Grizz, he still struggles with consistency on the offensive end from time to time. In his past ten games, the big Lithuanian has scored more than 19 just once and has hit 16 or under seven times.
Besides wanting to stay out of the paint because Miami defends so well there, Memphis may wish to keep it on the perimeter for another reason. If there’s one weakness of the Heat’s defense, it is defending the three-ball. Miami gives up 14.6 triples a night, third-worst in the NBA on the second-most three-point attempts. Knowing the Heat dominate the key may be another reason the Grizzlies keep it out of Jonas’ hands. They could allow their sharpshooters like Grayson Allen and Dillon Brooks to try and get it done on offense rather than risk being erased inside with Valanciunas.
The Grizzlies are a +6 point road dog with a +190 moneyline, while the total at FanDuel’s Sportsbook total is relatively low at 216, mainly reflecting Miami’s tough defense.
