Antoine Griezmann brutally booed by OWN Atletico Madrid fans before and during Porto clash just weeks after return
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN was jeered and whistled by his own supporters tonight as Atletico Madrid took on Porto in the Champions League.
The Frenchman returned to Atletico a fortnight ago.
But their supporters haven’t welcomed him back with open arms.
Many were upset by the manner of his 2019 departure to Barcelona.
And, following his underwhelming spell in Catalonia, they aren’t exactly thrilled to see him back.
Griezmann was hooked just 58 minutes into his first game back at Atletico last weekend.
And he was dropped to the bench for tonight’s European clash.
As his name was read out before the match, his name was audibly whistled by unhappy fans.

And he was jeered onto the pitch when brought on by Diego Simeone in the 56th minute.
The score was 0-0 when the Argentine called upon the former fans’ favourite.
But Griezmann could do little to help break the deadlock.
He was nearly presented with an opportunity score in the 95th minute.
But he was hauled down by former Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba, with the Congolese centre-back being sent off.
Although one fan joked at Griezmann’s expense: “Chancel Mbemba sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity but it’s not a good decision
“It was Antoine Griezmann who was through so how could it be clear?”
