Storm Nicholas inundates Gulf Coast in up to 10 inches of rain, stalls over Ida-ravaged Louisiana

The storm formerly known as hurricane Nicholas, downgraded to a tropical depression, lodged itself over Ida-ravaged Louisiana on Wednesday, where it was expected to stay through Friday, dumping up to 10 inches of rain and flooding coastal Mississippi, Alabama and northwest Florida.
