Gilmore Girls: Secondary Characters Ranked By Likability
Throughout seven seasons of Gilmore Girls Lorelai and Rory were surrounded by many friendly faces that fans grew to love. The small town of Stars Hollow is full of unique and wonderful characters that bring Gilmore Girls to life and leave viewers wanting more. Nearly every role played in the show was perfectly done, even if a character wasn't a favorite at first fans learned to love and care for them by the time the series had ended.

For many Gilmore Girls is a comfort show where it can be rewatched timelessly, whilst the main characters play a huge role in that, secondary characters do too. You can find something good in every Stars Hollow resident, making them universally loved in their own special ways.
10 T.J.
When T.J was first introduced he came across as loud and overbearing but as the show went on a different side of him was shown, especially after baby Doula was born.
Liz and T.J's relationship at the start was very hectic due to their intense arguments, the uncertainty of their living situation, and sometimes putting too much pressure on Luke. However, as time passed T.J's comedic relief became enjoyable and it was easy to see just how much love and affection he has for Liz.
9 Mrs. Kim
The relationship Mrs. Kim has with Lane isn't normally too good. She is extremely overprotective and doesn't normally have Lane's real best interests at heart (although she thinks she does). Later seasons prove how much Mrs. Kim does love and care for Lane, even if she doesn't express it at all.
In the final season, her character arc is one of the most redeeming. Watching her forbid Lane from doing anything fun to finally supporting her music and relationship with Zack is what Lane has always deserved. Even though fans disagreed with Mrs. Kim's strict parenting tactics it was still heart-warming to watch her change as a parent.
8 Caesar
Caesar is Luke's most trusted employee at the diner and is often seen working frantically trying to keep the kitchen orders afloat. When Luke is busy or needs time off Caesar is there to take care of things and keep the diner open.
Luke should treat Caesar better with all the hard work and effort he puts into his job, especially in later seasons when Luke seems more angsty he doesn't give Caesar much credit and often seems annoyed at him. For the sake of character development, it would have been nice for him to of received a promotion at the diner and for viewers to learn more about him.
7 Taylor Doose
As the owner of Doose's Market and the town's selectman, he has a lot of say in what happens in Stars Hollow and often frustrates many of the residents. Taylor might be seen as that guy who everyone dislikes because of his many rules but he was endearing in lots of episodes, and it was entertaining to watch him and Luke argue now and then.
Stars Hollow wouldn't have been the same without Taylor and he became an important character who viewers cared about. However, living in a small town with Taylor would probably be painful.
6 Babette
Babette is a crucial character in Stars Hollow because she knows the most about Lorelai and Rory by being their neighbor. Many episodes with Babette are her telling the town about what is happening in the mom and daughter duo's lives which seems heavily personal at times.
That being said, Babette is a helpful and friendly neighbor that many people would love to have, even though Lorelai feels frustrated by her at times, she knows Babette would do anything to help her. She is especially likable when she is with her husband Morey as they make a great team and show how friendly having them as neighbors would be.
5 Jackson
While Sookie is one of the main characters in Gilmore Girls her husband Jackson isn't, and he is mainly seeing providing Sookie with local fresh produce.
When Jackson and Sookie are on the screen though we see them having a happy relationship, and he seems like a great man for her as he understands her. Sometimes he does come across as pushy and neurotic but overall he is a likable character. Although he does have some weird family members appear at times like his brother Beau (Nick Offerman).
4 Gil
Gil has a lot to bring to the table when it comes to Hep Alien. The band needs someone to be mature and make wise decisions and he does exactly that. As someone who has experienced the world, he provides much-needed wisdom and experience to the teenage rock band who haven't really left Stars Hollow before.
Gil is someone who cares deeply about his family and friends whilst also keeping his sandwich shop business alive. Luke could have learned from Gil that it's possible to have a successful business and be a decent person to those around you.
3 Miss Patty
Miss Patty's job should have been a detective because she is superb at getting any gossip about her fellow neighbors. She might know everything about everyone but never once is she malicious about it.
She breathes life into the town and everywhere around her, and any of her friends would agree that she is lovely to be around despite sometimes being too much of a gossip. Miss Patty inspires the younger generation in her dance studio and it's easy to see how much impact she has in Stars Hollow.
2 Kirk
Besides the main characters of Gilmore Girls Kirk would be at the top of many fans lists when it comes to favorite characters. His constant innovative grind is hilarious especially when his ideas are weird but strangely great.
His character may be for comedic relief but after watching seven seasons of the show it's difficult not to become attached to Kirk. Having him as a friend in real life would probably get frustrating but watching him on screen is always fun. The bond Luke and Kirk shared towards the final seasons was heart-warming and his character arc developed for the better.
1 Michel
Michel is very particular about things and he probably should have got fired from the Independence Inn at some point during the first season but that is what makes him entertaining.
He provides a voice of reason for viewers because the town is full of quirky characters with weird habits he seems to be the only one who questions it. Michel's low tolerance for silliness and any slight inconveniences is endearing and he provides great comedic value even if it's not his intention to be funny.
