Watch Google Explain 113 Reasons Why You Should Switch To Pixel
In a new video, Google provides more than 100 reasons why consumers should consider getting a Pixel smartphone over the competition. Despite including numerous sidesplitting references, the comically outstretched list does contain a handful of valid points as well. The tech giant has recently garnered a lot of confidence in its smartphones, and with good reason too.
The Pixel lineup has now come a long way since the first model debuted back in 2016. Google not only made strides in improving the hardware with each new entry, but it also introduced some significant upgrades to the software through new Android releases. With the latest Pixel 6 becoming a substantially bigger upgrade over its predecessor, Google's certainly wasting no time in convincing consumers why now's the best time to make the switch.
In fact, Google compiled 113 reasons why people should opt for a Pixel smartphone via a silly yet informative video. For starters, the company frequently lauded the Pixel's wide-angle camera, which it claims is not just great for capturing “awesome” photos, but other real life applications as well. This includes translating text, live navigation, helping with homework, recording documents, and even identifying plants and animals. Another compelling argument is its native split-screen multi-tasking capability, something the iPhone is still struggling to pull off without the help of third-party apps. As if that wasn't enough, Google also reminded consumers that making the switch is even easier thanks to the included Quick Switch Adapter, which can transfer data from old phones or, ahem, an iOS device, straight to a Pixel smartphone.
Most of Google's reasoning stems from just how well the Pixel's hardware integrates with its constantly evolving operating system. The growing augmented reality capabilities of built-in apps like Google Lens, Maps, Translate and Photos, are further complimented by the Pixel's improving camera. With the Pixel getting better software support moving forward, it's only natural for Google to make the ecosystem one of its biggest selling points.
Google also argues that the Pixel name itself is one of the reasons to consider. Apparently, it contains the “cool” letter X and is two letters away from the word pie, and who doesn't like pie, right? As if LG's smartphone exit hasn't caused enough flak for the company already, Google pours more salt on the wound by constantly proclaiming that Pixel is the best phone to consider “when the maker of your old phone stops making phones.” Although Google is known for its humor, its subtle jabs at competitors can be downright brutal at times.
