Battlestar Galactica Art Book Shows Cylon Raider & Viper Concept Art [EXCLUSIVE]
Screen Rant has an exclusive look at four images from the new Battlestar Galactica art book Battlestar Galactica: Designing Spaceships. Written by journalist and author Mark Wright, writer Paul Ruditis, and Ian Spelling the guide looks at the creation of the spaceships featured both in the beloved original series and the 2003 award-winning reimagining. Battlestar Galactica: Designing Spaceships will be available on November 16 from Penguin Random House.
The original Battlestar Galactica series aired on television in 1978, starring Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch, and Dirk Benedict. The seminal sci-fi series ran for 24 episodes before being canceled in 1979. In the early 2000s, the series was reimagined by Ronald D. Moore (Star Trek, Outlander). The 2004 version of Battlestar Galactia began first as a miniseries before continuing on for four seasons. This new version starred Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, and Katee Sackhoff as Starbuck - the role originated by Hatch. There was also a spin-off, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, a web series released in 2012. In 2019, Peacock announced they were making another Battlestar Galactica reboot.
