Vanderpump Rules: Why Jax Always Insists He Quit The Show
Resident Vanderpump Rules bad boy Jax Taylor always insists he quit the show, even though Bravo network representatives said otherwise. The bartender was a staple on the series from its inception, thanks to his selfish demeanor, which triggered tons of drama. Jax always put himself first, making him the man fans loved to hate.
Jax was an original cast member. The former model was best known for his playboy ways, as he dated more than half the cast. Right from the start of Vanderpump Rules season one, he was always a contentious character. When Hooters girl Brittany Cartwright joined the show, everything changed. The Kentucky girl moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax, even though he was known to cheat on her. Jax and Brittany's departure came after Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired when their possibly racist behavior was uncovered. The two women had called the cops on former cast member Faith Stowers, accusing her of a crime she didn't commit. For his part, Jax had tweeted accusations at Faith, while also making insensitive remarks on and off the air.
Jax is once again trying to convince fans that he left Vanderpump Rules on his own terms. The reality star recently sat down with The Doctors to share his point of view. Only a few weeks into season 9, Jax is trying to prove that he still has an in with the cast, by noting that he is close to the VPR stars who have kids. Jax then directed his aggressive behavior at the current cast, as he shaded them by saying, “What was great about our show, the original cast, is we were all friends prior to the show.” Bravo fans don't understand why the former SUR bartender is so invested in ruining the series when he keeps claiming that he chose to leave. The new father once again came up with a new excuse for quitting the show, by saying he was too old for the series. Vanderpump Rules fans agree that a 42-year-old should not be hanging out with a bunch of 20 and 30-year-olds. Jax, who said some harsh things about COVID-19 last year, mentioned that the idea of going back to a world that was all about fighting gives him a lot of anxiety. Luckily for him, it doesn't look like the network wants him back anyway.
In December of 2020, Jax and Brittany took to their Instagrams to announce that they decided to leave the show after eight seasons. For seven years, he bullied cast members and made fun of mental health issues. Jax was often known as a lovable villain, but a bad guy nonetheless. He cheated and had trouble with impulse control. He was also known for being an avid gossiper. In the end, he was too much of a risk for the network. After Vanderpump Rules, Jax and Brittany pitched a reality show. An anonymous source let @Deuxmoi know that Jax and Brittany will be getting a series that will supposedly stream on Peacock, according to Heavy, but that's pure speculation at this point.
Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
