NSW department overpaid contractor, misled ICAC and broke law: Ombudsman

The NSW Ombudsman has found the former Department of Planning and Environment filled a senior executive vacancy under emergency provisions in 2018 when “there was no emergency” and paid the person substantially above benchmarks.
