Insulate Britain protesters block major London road and Kent roundabout
Eco-protesters Insulate Britain have returned to the roads for another protest, targeting the A40 in West London and a major roundabout in Dartford, Kent.
The climate group, which has caused chaos on major roads over the past few months, is continuing to stage blockades despite the threat of legal action.
Activists have insisted they will defy court orders and keep the pressure on the Government to meet their demand to insulate all of Britain’s homes by 2030.
But their tactics, which have enraged workers and commuters, have been condemned by ministers who claim they could put people off the green message.
During rush hour this morning, protesters glued themselves to a road in Dartford, near the tunnel and the M25, two major transport links connecting Kent to London and Essex.
Dozens of activists are also sat in the middle of a road on the A40, blocking traffic-that is said to be backed up for miles.
Today’s stunt comes after the activists asked drivers not to use the M25 today as they prepare for another sit-down protest.
The Extinction Rebellion offshoot group said the M25 will be a ‘place of nonviolent civil resistance’ from Wednesday morning.
