Fizban’s Treasury Of Dragons adds a number of new magic items to Dungeons & Dragons, including one of the strongest weapons in the game, as well as a magical gun that is effective at dealing with some of the most fearsome monsters that players could come across. Fizban’s Treasury Of Dragons is primarily about dragons and the lore of dragonkind, as they are a major component of the D&D multiverse. However, the book also introduces a number of great new magic items.

The DM doesn't necessarily need to load down the player with epic level gear to make them happy, as a few healing potions and scrolls can be a godsend to a lower level group that is trying to survive in the wilderness.
Fizban’s Treasury Of Dragons has introduced several new magic items, not all of which are directly connected to dragons. Magic items in D&D are certainly important when facing a dragon in battle, and players will want to get their hands on the best gear possible if they hope to take down a dragon before it roasts them alive.
The Crystal Blade from Fizban's Treasury of Dragons is a rare item that can appear as any type of sword. It doesn't naturally possess a hit/damage bonus for its melee attacks, but it does deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage per hit. The Crystal Blade can store three charges, and the wielder can expend one of these charges while striking an enemy, in order to heal damage equal to the bonus radiant damage dealt. The Crystal Blade restores 1d3 charges at dawn. The wielder can also use their bonus action to cause the sword to light up, providing visibility up to 70ft in all directions.
The Crystal Blade is a great choice of magic item for rewarding a low-level D&D party. It packs a little extra punch, without being too powerful in the hands of a melee fighter. The healing ability is also light enough that it won't remove the tension from battle, and its limitations mean it cannot be spammed. The light ability is an extra bit of fluff that likely won't be too useful, considering the different methods of creating light that players already possess, but it's a nice touch that will make the wielder feel awesome when it comes up.
There are plenty of epic weapons in the D&D campaign worlds that adventurers spend their entire lives looking for. These include the likes of the Sword of Kas or the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords. The Flail of Tiamat is up there in terms of strength, and any warrior who managed to get their hands on it would become a force to be reckoned with. The Flail of Tiamat is a Legendary flail that requires attunement, with a +3 bonus to hit and damage. Those struck by the flail take an extra 5d4 damage, with the player able to choose between acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison elemental types. Once a day, the wielder can command the Flail of Tiamat to fire a dragon's breath attack that can deal 14d6 damage (Dexterity save for half damage), using one of the elemental damage types mentioned above.
The Flail of Tiamat is an epic-tier D&D weapon, especially in the hands of a high-level warrior who can perform multiple attacks per round. The ability to switch the elemental damage type of the attack is especially useful, as it means the player will always have a means of bypassing resistances/immunities, against all but the strongest or most buffed of foes.
The Ruby Weave Gem is a Legendary wonderous item that requires attunement, and can only be used by a spellcaster. It comes with three charges, and they are restored at dawn. The caster can spend all three charges to ignore the need to use 500gp worth of material components for a spell. That is a pretty lame ability for a high-level magic item, as most casters should have enough cash to buy whatever components they need. The real reason the Ruby Weave Gem is so amazing is its other ability. When the user takes a long rest, they can add a spell from any Dungeons & Dragons spell list in the game to their own, with the caveat that they must be able to cast spells of the same level.
The Ruby Weave Gem is the ultimate utility item for a spellcaster. This allows high-level Wizards to cast resurrection, Clerics to cast time stop, and Bards to cast storm of vengeance. This item would improve the repertoire of any caster in the game, and it would become highly prized to those seeking mastery of the arcane arts.
It's rare (but not unheard of) for guns to show up in D&D campaigns. A few primitive rifles and revolvers have shown up from time to time, but these are usually restricted by an extremely limited supply of ammo, or the technology being so unrefined that it could potentially blow up in the face of the wielder. The Topaz Annihilator is a magical equivalent to a rifle, which can be used by any party facing 30-50 dire boars.
The Topaz Annihilator is a Legendary firearm that requires attunement. It looks like a musket, except with the heart of a topaz dragon built into its core. Each shot from the Topaz Annihilator deals 2d10 damage, but any foe that it drops to zero hit points is instantly disintegrated and can only be restored by a true resurrection or wish spell. The user can also cast disintegrate once per day. What makes this weapon so good is that it can bypass the Mythic trait of powerful monsters. Dungeons & Dragons monsters with the Mythic trait essentially have a second health bar, which kicks in once they drop to zero hit points, and it grants them extra powers. If the player is able to kill the monster's first form with the Topaz Annihilator, then it will be too dead to use its Mythic power.
