RHOA: One Quote From Each Cast Member That Goes Against Her Personality
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is never short on drama, and though most OG housewives have had tremendous transformations over the years some dynamics have remained the same. Some of the wildest conflicts on RHOA happen during reunions but, surprisingly, some of the most memorable lines uttered during the show have occurred during confessionals or during one-on-one sequences.
While most housewives have trademark behavioral patterns or defense mechanisms or even punchlines, there have been times when the housewives have said something or admitted something that is quite out of character or goes against their personality.
10 NeNe: I Can Kiki With Chicks I Don't Even Like
NeNe's season 7 confessional confused her fans since she said that she can hang out with people she doesn't even like. In the past, NeNe has often talked about how she only spends time with people she shares a frequency with. During the same confessional she had famously said, "I'm like a one night stand. I b**g you and if I don't want to do you anymore I won't do you."
This implies she's selective about her social circle, so she may have contradicted herself during the confessional because having a good time with strangers really goes against her patterns.
9 Kenya: I'm Gone With The Wind Fabulous
Kenya has had some of the best storylines on RHOA, but her iconic "Gone with the Wind fabulous" line is what she's most famous for. While this was a milestone moment for the show, it was also quite out of character for Kenya who usually steers away from boasting about something superficial unless provoked.
Kenya was miffed with Porsha because the latter got her pageant title wrong at a public event, but her "Gone with the Wind" comment came out of nowhere. The girls were on a tropical vacation when Kenya decided to revisit the fight, and even her castmates were quite shocked at her comment, because it was so unlike Kenya to be so dramatic.
8 Phaedra: Just Because You Slip Out Of A Nurse's Outfit Does Not Make You A Nurse
Though Phaedra had often slut-shamed her cast mates she was never someone who'd go after another woman's professional credentials or talents, unless of course, things got nasty or she was provoked. When she questioned Kim's credentials as a registered nurse it did come across as odd because Phaedra believed in empowering the women around her and took a lot of pride in being a working mother.
She herself was a lawyer who had fought some very noteworthy cases and even held on to her job as a cast member on the show. So, she was never one to tarnish another woman's background or judge a book by its cover. Therefore, it did shock fans when she demanded to see Kim's nursing school documentation.
7 Sheree: I've Been Bamboozled
Sheree is usually self-aware was perhaps the most well-adjusted cast member and this OG RHOA housewife had some iconic scenes on the show. This is why fans were surprised that she was so misled by her then-boyfriend Tiy-E Muhammad who had falsely led her to believe that he was a doctor.
Tiy-E revealed that he was not a licensed practitioner and had a virtual PhD which shocked Sheree. During the confessional, she revealed that she felt "bamboozled" which was pretty out of the ordinary because Sheree is usually the smartest one in the room.
6 Drew: You Got That Delilah Spirit
The Real Housewives franchise has had some explosive fights, but Drew and LaToya's conflict didn't really have enough substance, to begin with. Drew attacked LaToya for her relationship with her spiritual advisor Prophett Lott fans and accused her of having a "Delilah spirit.'" Drew later explained in a confessional that a "Delilah is someone who uses her sexuality to exploit someone."
This confused fans because Drew usually stays away from slut-shaming other women or talking about someone's private relationship, so holding LaToya responsible for a mutual fling seemed quite silly and out of character for Drew.
5 Cynthia: This is Get-Out-Of-My-House-Mas
It's very unlike Cynthia to bash a guest unless of course, she has enough reason to. During the Friendsmas episode at her house, LaToya and Drew got into a physical altercation, and some of Cynthia's furniture were damaged during their fight. Drew had lunged at LaToya over a fight over the Prophett (and over a wig that Drew had bought for Kenya).
During Friendsmas, after her furniture had been damaged, she was clearly displeased and wasn't having Drew's apology. "Just stop it, Drew, stop it with the prophets, stop it with LaToya, this is get-out-of-my-house-mas," Cynthia said during a confessional. Cynthia has often been a peacekeeper on the show and fans had never seen her throw someone out of her home so this was quite a surprise.
4 Porsha: Please Just Dismiss Yourself
Porsha has evolved a lot over the years. but when she held her own during a challenging discussion with her long-time frenemy Kenya, fans were quite shocked and impressed. During the Kandi Cares grocery pop-up Kenya told Porsha that no one takes her and Dennis seriously as a couple since they have been on-again and off-again for so long. Kenya was clearly offended by her remarks but she took some time to explain to Kenya why she was anxious about seeing Dennis at Cynthia's wedding.
This was definitely progress because, in the past, Porsha's anger would get triggered even by the mildest of Kenya's zingers, so when she chose to keep her calm during this episode and simply quipped a low-key "Please dismiss yourself"during the confessional it wad quite refreshing for her fans.
3 Tanya: You've Talked All Day, Zip Your Lips
Tanya almost never hits below the belt, and even during the most dramatic altercations, she holds her ground. This is also something that has made her popular among her cast-mates who believe she's the most well-intended housewife on the show. But Tanya's conflict with Kenya reached some extreme heights and even triggered the otherwise-graceful Tanya to yell at Kenya during a reunion episode.
During the season 12 reunion, Tanya wasn't having any of Kenya's shade and asked her to quiet down so others could speak. This move was unexpected because Tanya usually isn't confrontational but her peers cheered her for making herself heard.
2 Eva: She's What We Call A Class-A Instigator
In season 12 Kandi emerged as the "bone collector," as she stirred the pot many times by spilling controversial tea between different social groups. Though she didn't mean to spread toxicity, her move wasn't appreciated by many especially Eva. Kandi had told Porsha about Eva's "Dennis with a bow" comment and Eva wasn't happy about this.
She called Kandi a "class-A instigator." This wasn't totally untrue, because Kandi did stir up controversies during season 12, and Eva, who is not exactly too confrontational or even too vocal about her issues, surprised viewers with her comment, especially because they were very true and made for a great zinger.
1 Kandi: I Will Drag You In This Bi**h
No one expected Kandi to have a meltdown during a sleepover especially because the housewife has a reputation for being poised and usually keeps her cool even during conflicts. But when Peter raised questions about her husband Todd's reputation Kandi got aggressive and shocked her castmates with her antics.
Kandi herself was taken aback by the allegations but her meltdown was quite out of character for her, and even her BFF NeNe was surprised that Kandi was so triggered by this subject.
