Iron Man Tech Lets Daredevil 'See' Like Never Before
Warning! Spoilers for Daredevil #35 by Marvel Comics
Marvel's Daredevil just unleashed a new piece of tech from Iron Man that lets her see like never before. In Daredevil #35 by Marvel Comics, Elektra shows off her upgraded sai that allows her to operate in the shadows and gives her thermal and sonar vision. At the same time, she can see the heartbeats of her enemies. The tech was initially built for Matt Murdock, as Tony Stark didn't realize he was blind.
Matt Murdock's most extraordinary power as Daredevil is his superhuman sensory system, which gives the blind hero several special abilities to operate without his sight. Included among them are superhuman hearing and smell, echolocation, sonar sense, and blindsight. Daredevil might be blind, but his radar sense and enhanced abilities allow him to see differently. Murdock's superhuman senses are so good - most of his fellow heroes don't even know that he's actually blind. So, when Iron Man decided to build a power upgrade for the hero, he didn't realize he already possessed the powers his new tech gave him.
Earlier in Marvel's current Daredevil series, Iron Man assisted Elektra's Daredevil after multiple versions of Bullseye seriously injured her. She asked her fellow hero for a power upgrade after he used nanobots to help heal her wounds. In the last issue of the comic, Elektra debuted her new sai's powers allowing her to create sound waves. Now, in Daredevil #35 by Chip Zdarsky, Stefano Landini, Francesco Mobili, Marcio Menyz, and VC's Clayton Cowles, readers learn more about Daredevil's new sai and what they're really capable of.
In her battle against Bullseye and his clones, Daredevil uses the sai to create a sonic wave in a dark theater giving her to see sonar and thermal vision while revealing the heartbeats of those within its range. The tech allows Daredevil to know where the two Bullseye clones were hiding and take them down, save the innocent people they used as bait, and pursue the original villain. Funny enough, Iron Man originally designed the tech for Matt Murdock's Daredevil, not realizing the hero was blind underneath the mask and already had similar powers.
The Tony Stark-created tech makes Elektra see what Matt usually sees with his radar sense. So, while Iron Man built the weapons for the original Daredevil, it helps Marvel's newest Devil of Hell's Kitchen experience what it's like to be in Matt's shoes even more. Iron Man's tech will be critical for Daredevil to stop Kingpin before it's too late. Daredevil #35 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now.
