How to Change Songs in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
The soundtrack in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy lives up to the reputation set by its cinematic counterparts. Music has been a staple of the franchise since the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie came out in 2014, and the game developers ensured that players got a unique and customizable audio experience to enjoy while mowing through enemies. This has been one of the many reasons why Marvel's GotG has been well-received by reviewers.
Similar to the movies, the songs in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy are classics from the 70s and 80s that players, especially Americans, will most likely have heard before. While aboard the Milano, there will always be some music playing to make travel a bit less mundane. Here, players have complete control over the music and can change songs at will.
To skip through the classic songs on the Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, Star-Lord can interact with the jukebox on the ship. From the center room of the ship, next to one of the windows through which players can look outside, there will be a shelf with a music box on it. Interacting with the box will bring up all the songs available on the soundtrack, and allow players to select their favorite. Players can use the button prompts on the bottom-right of the screen to further control the music or turn it off.
During combat in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the only way to bring up a song from the soundtrack is to wait until the Huddle meter is full. Once it is full, players can perform a Huddle-Up with L1 and R1 on PlayStation, LB and RB on Xbox, or R on PC. Every Huddle will make Star-Lord play one of his songs out of his walkman, adding to the hype of good fights like the one against the Dweller-in-Darkness boss.
Streamers, however, may want to change the music for different reasons. There is a "Streamer Mode" option in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy that ensures no copyrighted material plays, keeping streamers from getting hit with a Terms of Service violation or a Copyright Strike on most platforms. To access this mode, players can go to the Settings menu, choose Audio, and turn Licensed Audio off. This will ensure no licensed music is played during the course of the game unless the setting is turned back on.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
