California officer convicted of firearm assault, but not manslaughter after fatally shooting Black man in 2018

A jury in California agreed to convict a former a police officer of assault with a firearm for fatally shooting a Black man diagnosed with mental illness during a low-speed chase in 2018, but they could not reach a consensus on the more serious manslaughter charge.
