New Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag urged to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech by Holland legend Marco van Basten
NEW Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been urged to reunite with Hakim Ziyech by Holland legend Marco van Basten.
Ten Hag worked with the now Chelsea winger at Ajax for just under three years between 2017 and 2020.
Ziyech won the league and Dutch Cup during his time at Ajax and also helped the club reach the Champions League semi-final in 2019.
The Moroccan then earned a big money move to the Premier League with Chelsea but things haven’t gone to plan.
Despite picking up a Champions League winners medal in 2021, Ziyech has struggled to nail down a starting spot.
He has managed just 14 goals and 10 assists in 81 appearances for the Blues.

That’s a significantly low return to what he had in Holland across Ajax, Twente and Heerenveen.
Ziyech managed an astonishing 218 goal contributions in 287 games.
And in order to return to playing his best football Dutch legend Van Basten has suggested Ten Hag brings Ziyech to Man Utd.
Speaking during Ziggo Sport’s ‘Rondo’ show on Monday, which featured Ten Hag as a guest, Van Basten said: “What comes to my mind now is that I think Ziyech who already plays in England could be a very good footballer at Manchester United for Erik.”

Ten Hag refused to be drawn into transfer speculation, saying: “Of course this was already the case at Ajax.
“You take that in and then you have to continue to work well with the dressing room and with people within the club.
“You have to analyse well and make the right choices.”
Ten Hag has also revealed that he has already started work at Man Utd despite JUST finishing the campaign with Ajax.
The Dutchman is keep to get off to a flying start.
He continued: “I have started working today.
“I already did the first things with Manchester United today. Tomorrow I will continue with that.
