Club Presentation Weekend
Newhaven FC will be holding our club presentations for the 2021/22 season over the weekend of Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May.
The club have hired a marquee for the weekend and would like to invite all supporters to celebrate the teams’ efforts over the last year.
As well as admiring the on-field highs, it also gives us a chance to thank the off-field team who work tirelessly to ensure the club runs as smoothly as it does throughout the season.
We start on Friday night with the Ladies First Team who finished a respectable sixth in Division 1 South of the London & South East Regional Women’s League. The bar will be open from 7pm as the side also bid a farewell to joint-manager Alex Ladd who is stepping down from his role.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, it is the turn of the Mens First Team, Under-23s and Under-18s.
It was a case of nearly but not quite for Sean Breach and Andy Cook’s side – finishing third in the league and losing in a play-off final against Lancing and the Peter Bentley Cup final against Littlehampton Town. But still plenty of progress to celebrate.
Kieran Ridley’s Under-23s were also runners-up in a cup final but have reason to celebrate after being runaway winners of the SCFL U23 East Division. And the Under-18s finished sixth in the U18 East Division, but will be optimistic about the future after the announcement of Clive Blunt as manager for next season.
The bar will be open from 3pm on Saturday with events set to kick off at around 5pm. Once the awards are done we will then be showing the Champions League final which kicks off at 8pm (UK time).
Finally, on Sunday, it is the turn off the club’s youth teams. The day will start at 11am and if you wish to attend, please contact the team’s manager for their designated time on the day. The bar will be open all day.
We thank everyone for their support during the season and hope to see as many as possible celebrating the teams and volunteers over the weekend.
