Cristiano Ronaldo told by Man Utd he MUST return for pre-season this week ahead of tour despite wanting transfer exit
MANCHESTER UNITED’S wantaway forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been told by the club he must report back for pre-season THIS WEEK.
The 37-year-old has informed the Red Devils of his desire to depart this summer after citing his need to play Champions League football.
Ronaldo is also understood to be left disappointed by the club’s lack of transfer activity, with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner believing they haven’t been “ambitious” enough.
But United are understood to be desperate to keep hold of their talismanic striker with the player still having a year left on his contract.
Despite United insisting he isn’t for sale, Chelsea are said to be at the front of the queue to sign him.
New Blues owner Todd Boehly recently met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential move for the Real Madrid legend.
