We seem willing to spend the money but struggle to get the players we are interested in - happens every year.
What we need to do and didnt bother with last year is use the loan system. Even if you can’t get a loan to buy deal it’s more than worth doing and there are loads of fringe and out of favour players at top 6 teams I expect we could get. Someone like Timo Werner would be a big statement - sure wages might be a problem but bet Chelsea would do a deal on those.
we desperately need a striker and left back and agree that a loan deal will do if we cant entice quality to the club. my main concern with existing signings is whether they are good enough for the premier league. many are untried in the top leagues and simply based on marsch recommendation from his Salzburg days. I'm not sure where our goals are coming from with the narrow system we are planning to play. I'm not going into the season with much confidence or optimism though I was convinced we were going down throughout the last month of the season so I might be surprised again.
