South32 warns of higher costs in 2022
Diversified miner South32 has maintained its production guidance for the 2022 financial year, but has warned of increased operating cost across the board to account for stronger producer currencies, higher raw material costs and the increase in commodity prices which result in higher price-linked royalties.
During the three months to June, South32 reported its first copper production from the Sierra Gorda operation, in Chile, where the company in February completed the acquisition of a 45% interest.
