My boyfriend & I live in a van – we’re constantly fixing things & worrying about maggot infestations – but it’s worth it
A WOMAN who lives in a van with her partner has revealed the not so glamorous side of being on the road.
With the cost of living rising to new levels, many people are forced to downsize their homes – they might opt for a smaller studio apartment, live in a flatshare… or like one woman renovate a van and live on the road.
But although vanlife has become increasingly popular in the recent years, with many sharing documenting their journey, there are some less glamorous aspects to be wary of.

”Want to go and you’re composting toilet?
”Make sure you churn it afterwards – they don’t flush. It’s just like churning butter,” she said in the viral video.

As there is no drain system, the woman and her boyfriend also always have to keep an eye on their water tank under the sink.
”If you forget to check your grey water tank, the tank may overflow and you’ll have dirty dish water flooding your floor.”

Unlike those who live in houses or flats, the couple cannot simply take a nap or relax for a bit whenever they want – being on the road means they first need to figure out where to stop the vehicle.
”You know the feeling when all you want to do is crawl in the bed and sleep?
