LASG ENDS TRAINING OF 300 POLICE OFFICERS ON ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION  

The Lagos State Citizens’ Mediation Centre (CMC) has rounded off training embarked upon to spread the knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
 
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop organised for 300 Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) members at Folarin Coker Staff Clinic, Alausa, Ikeja, the Director of CMC, Mrs. Biola Oseni said the training was designed to empower participants with the basic mediation skills needed as background knowledge for those who intend to develop a career in Mediation. 
 
She advised the participants wishing to study further to enroll for mediation courses at the Lagos Multidoor Courthouse (LMDC) and Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) in order to obtain professional qualification.
 
Appreciating the management of CMC for the laudable initiative, the Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Apostle Kehinde Showemimo, expressed his gratitude to the State Government for the establishment of CMC that is run by vibrant and professional mediators who work diligently to ensure disputes are amicably resolved.
 
Showemimo averred that the training was organised pro bono, saying the management of CMC did not request fees or charges from the participants.
 
He, however, urged the participants to make good use of the knowledge acquired and ensure that society feels its impact through the dispensation of justice and amicable resolution of disputes.
