Love Island fans slam finalist as ‘bitter and jealous’ after spotting shady comment in first look

LOVE Island fans branded Gemma Owen “bitter and jealous” after noticing her making a ‘shady comment’ in the first look teaser.

After Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimenti poured their hearts out to each other in tonight’s final and sealed their series journey with a passionate snog, Gemma muttered “Oh wow”.

Fans are convinced it wasn’t said in a supportive manner, with one describing her as “a bitter old woman”.

Another said: “Almost everyone looks so nice and supportive of the couples and then there’s Luca and Gemma acting shady about Ekin-Su and Davide…”

A third claimed both Gemma and partner Luca Bish are jealous of show favourites Ekin and Davide.

They said: “Gemma and Luca deserve each other tbf. Both miserable. Even on final declarations, they can’t be happy for the other couples. They are so threatened by Ekin and Davide, it’s a joke.”

Though they’ve been portrayed as villa besties throughout the series, Love Island fans believe there has been underlying tension between Gemma and Ekin at times.

Subtle jibes, shady facial expressions and the odd bicker in the garden has left them wondering how genuine the friendship is.

Meanwhile last night Gemma’s mum Louise Bonsall sparked fury after she failed to give her daughter an important warning.

Horse dresser Louise, 41, who is married to Michael Owen, made an appearance on the ITV2 show when the Islanders finally got to reunite with their loved ones.

Viewers were expecting Gemma’s mum Louise to say a bit more about her daughter’s boyfriend Luca Bish after previously speaking out against his “bullying” of Tasha Ghouri on the show.

The deaf model came under fire from a group of boys, most notably her daughter’s boyfriend Luca, over a few hard-to-watch days in the villa.

While Louise didn’t mention him by name, she said in an Instagram post that the treatment of Tasha was “sad to see”.

And fans took to Twitter to discuss why she didn’t say anything.

One said: “Gemma’s mum didn’t say much about Luca…. She knows!”

Another added: “Really wish Gemma’s mum had done what Indiyah’s mum did.”

A third chimed in: “Ngl kinda disappointed that Gemma’s mum didn’t go in there and say she doesn’t like Luca lol.”

Meanwhile another pointed out: “Not people ranting cos what they were expecting from Gemma’s mum didn’t happen they can still have this discussion off camera & not on national TV for your own entertainment. I love that Luca’s mum brought it up and told him they will discuss more when he comes out.”
