GPX Martini Racing Eye Gulf 12 Hours, Dubai 24 Hours & Rolex 24!

The post-race press release from GPX Martini Racing who retired with an engine failure from the Spa 24 Hours just after the resumption of the race from an overnight Red Flag, offers an insight into the future plans of the Dubai-based outfit.

Pierre-Brice Mena, team principal reflected that the team felt relaxed about their choice of an “off-beat strategy” and that they felt it “gave us a slight advantage compared to the other favourites; it helped us seize certain opportunities. We were running between second and fourth places until the engine suddenly let go.”

The 2019 winners will have to wait another year to tackle Spa again.

Before then though they are looking at options for their programme.

“We’re going to work on the next steps on our programme in Endurance GT3, which will be a mix of circuits we know and new experiences.”

Noted as on the options list are: The Gulf 12 Hours, the final event of the IGTC (Intercontinental GT Challenge), a return to the Dubai 24 Hours which the team won in 2021 and “the discovery of motor racing American style at the 24 Hours of Daytona!”
