Banker went ballistic after ‘getting bonus of ‘only’ £300k and shouted at bosses over ‘unacceptable’ sum’
A BANKER was left infuriated by a bonus of “only” £300,000, a tribunal heard.
Fabio Filippi shouted at BNP Paribas bosses about the “unacceptable” sum — £100,000 less than his award a year before.
But they had decided his performance had dipped and that he was an “expensive resource who didn’t add value”.
At the central London tribunal, Mr Filippi accused the French bank of sacking him for whistleblowing — but a judge threw out his unfair dismissal case.
The hearing was told Mr Filippi started with BNP in London in 1999 and once earned nearly £700,000 a year.
In 2012 he was transferred to lead a team in Italy, but after four years bosses felt his work was not up to standard.

A tribunal report said: “Generally all the bonus awards were lower in 2016, but in his case the managers also took into account the fact that his performance had not been satisfactory in certain areas.”
The next year Mr Filippi was told that he was being dismissed and given six months to find another role.
He left in 2018 and now runs a property firm.
